JANE AVER´S “THE LIVING LAKE”

Jane Aver is a Madrid-based fashion and lifestyle photographer. In her works, Aver creates a soft and spontaneous atmosphere that is rich with emotion, and is much beloved by some of her most well known clients, such as Spanish actress Rossy de Palma and tennis player Daniil Medvedev. In her photo series “The Living Lake”, Aver takes on a new subject to which she lends her ethereal aesthetic, the largest freshwater lake in the world - Lake Baikal.

Located in the Siberian region of Irkutsk, Lake Baikal spans monumentally over 23,000 square kilometres, and for Aver is a source of boundless creative inspiration. With over 3,500 species of plants and animals Lake Baikal is a planet of its own.

Within this collection, Lake Baikal reveals its unparalleled splendour, urging us to preserve its delicate equilibrium. Each image is a testament to the intricate interplay of nature's elements. Aver's lens beckons us to become stewards of this unique ecosystem, advocating for its protection and cherishing its natural symphony.

Lake Baikal is the deepest and oldest lake on Earth, estimated to be around 25 million years old. For Aver, this means that for 25 million years nature has painted and created its patterns, colours and textures which she can lend her unique vision to. As a fashion photographer, this collection made Aver question the beauty of fashion juxtaposed with its impact on the natural world.

Nature's palette comes alive in these photographs, showcasing a vibrant tapestry. Through Aver's discerning eye, the landscapes of the Irkutsk region become a wellspring of inspiration for fashion innovation. From earthy hues to the graceful contours of flora and fauna, these images beckon designers to infuse their creations with ecological consciousness.

“The Living Lake" is an exhibition that prompts introspection on the profound connection between fashion and ecology. Aver's work is a testament to the possibility of a harmonious future, where beauty coexists with responsibility. This collection marks a pivotal step towards a more sustainable world—a testament to our collective journey towards a balanced and thriving planet.
